About this Group

Do you feel confused about the U.S. job or internship search process? Are you concerned about making mistakes or doing the wrong thing? Do you have questions about the American resume and cover letter, timelines, job websites, recruiters, interviewing, when and how to reveal your immigration status to a prospective employer, American-style networking, and much more?

You are not alone. Join the International Online Career Group and meet fellow GC students, postdoctoral scholars, and recent alumni who are dealing with the same issues. This is a safe space where any question can be asked.

The group will be facilitated by one of our career advisers, Don Goldstein, and our Administrative Coordinator, Annabella Bernard. The group will meet once a month on the first Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. ET. You are encouraged but not required to attend every session.

The next meeting of the International Career Group will be held on Monday, April 4 from 4:00-5:00pm. David Hershinow, the director of the GC Writing Center will give a presentation on how the Writing Center can help international students improve their writing skills. Don Goldstein, our career advisor, will follow that up by applying David’s suggestions to writing a great academic or non-academic cover letter. Whether you’ve attended in the past or are new to the group—all are Welcome!

Further upcoming meetings on May 2.
