About this Workshop

Join us for our second workshop on navigating the US job market for international GC students, postdoctoral scholars, and recent alumni. Networking is a key component of a job search in the US. It is estimated that 85% of jobs are obtained through networking and a full 70% of jobs are never posted publicly. Networking greatly increases your chances of a job offer and building a professional network often leads to offers in the future as your career progresses. In this workshop, we will cover various aspects of networking in the US, including norms and expectations of communicating, how to conduct informational interviews, and using LinkedIn and Twitter to manage a professional network.
