About this Session

Ithaka S+R is a not-for-profit research and strategic advisory firm that provides guidance to help academic and cultural communities serve the public good and navigate economic, technological, and demographic change. They are currently recruiting for their summer 2023 intern cohort.

During this event, staff from Ithaka S+R will provide an overview of their fellowship program. Staff will discuss the kind of work they do, the types of projects fellows could expect to work on, and their own career paths. The event will include time for questions and discussion. The deadline for 2023 fellowship applications is Monday, February 13.

Speaker bios:

Colette Johnson is director of strategy and operations at Ithaka S+R. She provides leadership and support for mission-critical projects. Colette received her PhD in English from Princeton University, and holds bachelor’s degrees in English and Art History from the University of California, Irvine. She directs the ITHAKA fellowship program.

Christy McDaniel is a researcher at Ithaka S+R. She has supported projects investigating the implementation and design of educational programs, including educational technology, as well as undergraduate student outcomes and faculty experiences during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. She holds a master’s degree in sociology and education from Columbia University’s Teachers College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University. She started with Ithaka S+R as a fellow during the summer of 2020.

Joanna Dressel joined Ithaka S+R as a fellow in the summer of 2022. She has contributed to analysis, reports, and presentations on changing art museum staff demographics and the views of art museum leadership. She holds an MA in Sociology from The City College of New York and is a PhD student in sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center.
