Remote Writing Accountability (Summer 2019)

Are you working on a paper, article, thesis, or dissertation? Do you want more structure for your writing process and feedback on your writing this summer? Are you looking for a friendly small-group setting in which to share works in progress?

Writing Services will be offering several types of remote accountability options during the summer. We’ll use digital spaces to share writing, provide feedback, offer mutual support, exchange tips on process, and help each other meet accountability goals. Students will share work and feedback on a rotating basis. Peer critique helps students develop methods to assess and revise their own work outside of the workshop.

Types of Writing Accountability

Text Based Accountability

You will set up weekly goals to share with others and then update them each week. Discussion can take place via this shared document as desired. A writing consultant will check in on your goals each week and will work to set up a consultation if you are struggling.

Remote Face to Face Accountability Group

Mondays at 10:00 am or 5:30 pm

A writing consultant will lead a one-hour digital group meeting where weekly goals and achievements will be discussed, as well as best practices for overcoming struggles.

Private Facebook Accountability Group

A more casual space to support fellow writers where goals, achievements, and writing tips can be shared. A writing consultant will check in regularly to answer any questions and to give encouragement.
