About the Workshop

There are few positions in today’s world where you might end up being someone’s colleague for 30 years—being a faculty member is one of them. That is why the interview process is so important, both as a chance for the search committee to get to know you and for you to decide whether a department is the right fit for you. In this session we’ll discuss:

  • Preliminary interviews (phone, Skype, conference)
  • Campus visits (including job talks and teaching demos)
  • What questions they might ask you—and what you should ask them
  • Negotiating
