bootcampWhat career options exist beyond academia? What’s the best way to explore career paths? How do you find a position that can help you build your career? This workshop introduces the employment landscape and how you might find your fit therein. We’ll talk about what other PhD and MA students have gone on to do, and whether making similar choices would be right for you. We’ll also discuss how career assessments and experiences like internships can help in your decision making. Finally, we’ll review places to find open positions. If you’re looking to industry or elsewhere beyond these hallowed halls, this workshop is the place to start.

About the Boot Camp

Moving from academia to the professional world requires knowledge and planning. This three-workshop series is open to students from all disciplines, and will help you to develop the knowledge base and skills necessary for finding your first postgraduate job outside of the academy. Though these workshops are meant to be taken together, you can join us for as many as fit your schedule.
