Purposeful Pedagogy Conference

Date/Time
Date(s) - 03/07/2014
9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Location
CUNY Graduate Center

Most adjuncts enter the classroom without any formal teaching or pedagogical training. To begin addressing this problem, a group of former public school teachers, experienced graduate student adjuncts, and concerned full-time faculty have designed a one-day intensive pedagogy workshop, open to all GC students.

The workshop will address multiple teaching strategies and pedagogy techniques (See schedule below). In addition to the one-day workshop we will also hold shorter monthly meetings where adjuncts will have an opportunity to discuss questions, frustrations, successes, etc. As part of the training, graduate students will be provided with materials and resources to support their teaching and a website is being constructed as an additional resource for adjuncts to utilize. Through this website, graduate students will be able to share resources, syllabi, lessons, assignments, etc.
