About this Workshop

Join us for the first of three workshops designed exclusively for international students, postdoctoral scholars, and recent alumni.

Do you feel confused about the U.S. job or internship search process? Are you concerned about making mistakes or doing the wrong thing? Do you have questions about the American resume and cover letter, timelines, job websites, recruiters, interviewing, when and how to reveal your immigration status to a prospective employer, American-style networking, and much more? You are not alone. Meet fellow members of the GC community who are dealing with the same issues. This is a safe space where any question can be asked.

In this workshop, we will give an overview of the US job search to help you begin preparing. You will learn about the “elevator pitch” to sell yourself as a job candidate. There will also be time to raise questions and discuss concerns about US job searches.

Register for the second workshop: Networking for the US Job Market.

Check our events in Spring 2023 to register for our third workshop on navigating the US job search process.
