Rachel Bernard, Program Officer at the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS), will provide information and offer proposal writing tips for both the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowships and the Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows program.

The Public Fellows program places recent humanities and social science PhDs in two-year positions in nonprofit organizations and government agencies. The fellowship carries a stipend of $67,500, health insurance coverage for the fellow, a relocation allowance, and up to $3,000 in professional development funds. The deadline for the 2018 competition is March 14, 2018.

The Dissertation Completion Fellowships provide advanced graduate students in the humanities and related social sciences who are in their final year of PhD dissertation writing a $30,000 stipend, research funds up to $3,000, and university fees up to $5,000. The next application deadline will be October 2018.

This event is open to all graduate students in the humanities and related social sciences. Please see the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship and Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows program web pages on the ACLS website for more details about eligibility requirements.
