The world has been experiencing an information explosion, to the extent that traditional data management tools are inadequate. Hence, the term “Big Data” was coined to describe our 21st-century situation. Despite potential difficulties, understanding massive amounts of data can provide us with tremendously useful information in IT, business, and social sciences. A recent post on LinkedIn emphasized the many ways Big Data can be utilized to change our world.

Given this new trend that crosses many fields, our office is organizing this event where you can hear our panelists talk about their understanding of Big Data, potential job opportunities in the market, and relevant professional skills.

Our panelists:

  • Zheng (Frank) Chen, Data Analyst at Standard & Poor’s
  • Natalia Nelyubina, Managing Strategy Consultant at IBM
  • James Zhang, R&D Knowledge Engineering, Bloomberg LP
